Needs Restoration
I am willing to donate this historic skiff to a reputable institution (school, museum, etc.) that will either restore or display it with honor.
A rare and complete 22 foot mahogany Thames River Skiff built in 1898 and from the Tigre Boat Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina. While solid, the boat needs restoration, mostly in the bow and stern as some of the planks have separated from the stems. The entire boat has been sanded and if not for water use it would make for a spectacular showpiece, once varnished. Included are all the seats, brass oarlocks, rudder, floorboards, and 9 foot copper tipped oak oars. It does not come with a trailer. I planned to make this a sliding seat scull (of sorts) and while there are only 3 others of record in North America, I have too many projects underway. This is a magnificent work of art, a slice of history, and a chance to own something that everyone comments on, at a very reasonable price. Best offer. Pickup and cash only.
