Gorgeous 1923 Old Town 18’ Charles River model with documentation (S.N.18 77888). The canoe was originally delivered in June of 1923 to the founder of the Maranacook Camp for boys, W. H. Morgan of Readfield, Maine. When William Morgan had to end his running of Maranacook Camp due to health issues in the late 1940s, the canoe became part of the canoe fleet of Camp Androscoggin in Wayne, Maine. It was bought from Camp Androscoggin by a Wayne family when the camp was moving away from wood/canvas. We bought it from them in the 1980’s, had it restored in the mid 1990’s (to the original Dark Green), and have used it and stored it (inside) on Pocasset Lake in Wayne since that time. I think it is original except for the canvas and the caning of the seats. It is beautiful to look at and a pleasure to paddle. Available for pick-up in Wayne or delivered within 50 miles.
